The Mission of Lennar Charitable Housing Foundation (LCHF) is…   to end homelessness by investing in shelter and supportive services benefiting vulnerable families and individuals.

Tri Valley Haven

Tri-Valley Haven was established in 1977 to provide safe shelter to women and children fleeing domestic violence. Soon after, a rape crisis center was added to provide support and advocacy to survivors of sexual assault. In 2001, the Haven began offering services to the Tri-Valley’s homeless and those at risk of homelessness.

Shiloh, the domestic violence shelter, has 30 beds for women and children and offers a stay of up to 105 days with a comprehensive program of counseling, case management and safety planning to help residents rebuild their lives and establish safe homes of their own, free from abuse.

Sojourner House, the homeless shelter, has 16 beds, and is the only shelter in the area that accepts two-parent families and single fathers accompanied by their children. Clients receive life skills training to help them attain self-sufficiency, and there is a maximum stay of six months. Residents earn their stay each week by working toward goals they have set with their case managers.

The HOPE (Homeless Outreach for People Empowerment) Project is a mobile clinic that provides free medical care, mental health and substance abuse counseling and social services to homeless and near-homeless residents of the Tri-Valley. The HOPE van is in Pleasanton on Monday afternoons, and in at several locations in Livermore every Wednesday. The Tri-Valley Haven HOPE case manager is available Monday through Friday to provide information and referrals, help in applying for social services benefits and other assistance as needed. The HOPE van is frequently the point of entry into Sojourner House.

The Haven Pantry provides groceries to more than 3,000 Tri-Valley residents each month who might otherwise have to choose between buying food or paying their rent in full. The Pantry also houses a bilingual English and Spanish parenting support program for families with children ages 0-5.

Tri-Valley Haven creates homes safe from abuse, contributes to a more peaceful society, one person, one family, one community at a time. Together we build a world without violence. – Tri-Valley Haven Mission Statement
