Hillview
Acres Children’s Foundation

Hillview Acres Children’s Home is a safe refuge to children
suffering the affects of severe abuse and neglect. Founded in 1929,
their mission is to impact the lives of children who have
experienced trauma, rejection, fear and/or pain. Hillview Acres
serves 40 to 50 annually between the ages of 6 to 17 years old. In
February 2004 they began serving pregnant and parenting teens as
well.
Hillview
Acres program is centered on relationship restoration through grace,
unconditional love, and acceptance. As their staff is engaged in
relationships with their children, trust is established and healing
begins. While in their care, the services they receive include
individual, group, and family therapy, psychological testing,
psychiatric monitoring and educational services. The shuttle service
that they provide assists families who have transportation
challenges to come visit their children and participate in family
therapy. The family-like environment at Hillview is partially
achieved by having the child care staff live on the campus with the
children.
Teamed
with Home Aid and Lennar Associate volunteers, the athletes paint,
put up siding and work on landscaping among other tasks. The end
result is a beautiful, brand new home for the very deserving, and an
incredible pride of accomplishment for all who participate. Project
Opportunity is truly a win-win for all involved.
Children come to the agency with underlying emotional problems which
are expressed through behavioral, social and educational deficits.
With the help and support of Hillview Acres Children’s Home, many
children have been able to experience more in their life than they
ever though was possible. Hillview will continue to provide their
love to any child in need of it.
